The hull section of the British Navy's air defense destroyer is manufactured in five blocks, with the heaviest block weighing as much as 1,400 tons. Prior to the welding work on the hull construction blocks, a synchronized system controlled by Enerpac's digital technology lifts the blocks, measures their weight, and positions them accurately. This has improved work efficiency and quality. When unloading a new ship, efficiency and accuracy are extremely important. Enerpac has developed a special synchronized lifting system to reduce the total work time and number of workers needed to complete the job. This 12-point lifting system can be powered by hydraulic equipment, features an electronic variable speed control device, and allows for the connection of two additional synchronized units (12-point lifting system) for large-scale lifting operations.
